# 04-04 20 Neko Kissa Vol.01
http://www.tenmanga.com/chapter/NekoKissaVol01Ch014/237625/
In some many senses this series stands at the polar opposite end of the anime scale from Tiger and Bunny even though there are some vague similarities. Whereas T&B takes a bold and innovative look at super-heroes featuring top-rate visuals, DD uses artistry and animation which could only generously be described as mediocre (although some of the background art, with the floating islands, looks very cool).Whereas the showmanship in T&B was cool, here the running commentary about the battle, its athletic theme, and what happens to combatants who get struck down all feels like cheap gimmicks which pander to kids and diehard anime fans with a fixation on cute. Even the key character design feed into this impression; the title comes from all of the fantasy world characters having animal ears and tails, with Biscotti Republic's Princess Millhiore and her dog theme being taken to a magical girl level of extreme cute.
It is entirely possible that I'mgiving this one an unduly hard time because it had the misfortune to be watched right after Tiger and Bunny, but I doubt it. Utawarerumono proved that this kind of fantasy theme can be done reasonably well, but based on the first episode this one is looking vastly inferior.

The video is as crisp and clear as can be expected for a DVD release. The series itself is around 2 years old, so the images are very vivid. The picture suffers no weird transition affects or skips when going to the next chapter. My only complaint is regarding the content, in that you don't get the "commercial" break intro and exit animations that separate the first half and second half of a show. The transition is smooth enough that you don't even realize you're into the second half of the show.
Since we are fast approaching the end of the series, (only 13 Episodes and 1 OAV were created), this DVD contains an extra feature not included on the previous 2 DVDs. Included are the 2 promo commercials that played on Japanese television before the series premiered. These commercials are in Japanese, so turn on the sub-titles to follow along.
The other extras are pretty standard. The Character Biographies are told from the perspective of the main protagonist, Kazuki. It's amusing to see how he views the others that he interacts with. We get some creator notes as well on two of the characters. Also, mixed in with the biographies is information about the main Rara antagonist as well as the new Robot.

Also standard is the Line Art with notes. The notes are again given from the characters' point of view. These are standard costume and set design information featured in the 3 episodes contained on the DVD.
As always, its best to view this stuff after you've watched the episodes because they contain potential spoilers for the series.
Dual: Artifacts continues the momentum from the previous volumes. For the action fans, we see a tremendous amount of combat as the robot battles really step up. For fans of the characters, each gets to shine in their own light. We even begin to see more from the enigmatic D.

Overall, this is a very good series, with good pacing and dialogue. At its heart is a romantic comedy that should be expected from the creators of Tenchi Muyo!. Unfortunately this generates a slight negative for those who want raw action with their robot fighting. Once the viewer can work past any preconceived expectations, this series is very enjoyable on its own merits. I'm sad to see this series coming to a conclusion with the next volume.

The temperature isn't the only thing getting hotter as summer break comes and goes in Strawberry Hall, temporarily separating some potential couples while bringing others closer together. As the fall term begins the politicking amongst Spica council members over who will be next year's Étoile progresses in earnest, with lovers and co-conspirators Momomi and Kaname once again trying to interfere in Amane and Hikari's budding relationship and later attempting to manipulate the casting and performance of “Carmen,” the play the students of Strawberry Hall will put on for the upcoming school festival. Indirectly egged on by the conniving duo, another girl makes a too-bold move over unrequited love, which temporarily drives a wedge between two good friends that Nagisa and Tamao seek to remove.

Umi no Misaki Chapter 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31
Goto Nagi has travelled to the southern island of Okitsushima, and ventures out to see Umi no Misaki, a striking cape jutting out into the ocean. But when he arrives, he finds that there is much more to this cape than a wondrous view. There is something peculiar about the cape, and about the island's inhabitants.

Overall, this is not a bad shoujo manga per se, and one could do far worse. But it is, as we have seen, impossible not to compare it unfavorably to Peach Girl, and those unfamiliar with that early example of shoujo manga in the United States would be well-advised to start there instead. Then, if those eighteen volumes do not completely satisfy, and only then, should they consider taking that next logical step—a step that is, unfortunately, down—to Papillon.

Mokichi wants to change himself. He wants to stop being a good-for-nothing grade-A wuss and make a man of himself. Upon entering his new school, he seizes his chance, and in an attempt to make his mark among the school's toughs, ends up getting thrashed by a girl and "exposed" before the entire campus. The girl, Tamako, happens to be part of the school's extremely strong (kinda) all-girl wrestling club. Impressed by her skills (and body) Mokichi decides to join the club. Mokichi's days of lust, breasts, violence, and breasts have just begun.
